Sony WF-1000XM3 Design

Sony WF-1000XM3

The design of the Sony WF-1000XM3 headphones is some of the best we have seen, which is no surprise coming from a brand as reputable as Sony. The headphones themselves are very well made and is compact and lightweight. Each bud comes in at a mere 0.3 ounces, making them a joy to hear for longer listening sessions. The pill-shaped of these ensures they are comfortable to wear for a prolonged period and does not look odd when you are out and about wearing them and the build is outstanding too. The units do not feel flimsy in any shape or form and exude quality. The outer sides are flat for a more modern look.

You have two choices for color – Black and White with Copper accents on both of them. The color finished looks very premium and outstanding, giving it a touch of minimalistic elegance and a chic look. To control the buds, you need to use the touch controls. You will not be finding any buttons here though; they are a thing of the past. You can play or pause and skip tracks with touch and also take calls on these.

The Sound

Sony WF-1000XM3

The headphones are driven by large 0.24-inch drivers that produce crystal clear sound for the ultimate listening pleasure. The audio range is very well balanced – from the low ends to the upper high ends, it produces sounds that are rich and clear. Listening to audio and voices on these are also a joy. We tried listening to episodes of a podcast on these and were very happy with the crisp tones these small headphones were able to produce.

Bass junkies might be slightly disappointed with the bass output. Make no mistake, these generate a significant amount of bass for an enjoyable listening session, but it lacks an aggressive overpowering thump in some songs, and it does not really hamper the overall quality or listening experience.

One of the standout features of the Sony WF-1000XM3 is its active noise canceling. The headphones come with Sony’s HD Noise- Cancelling QN1e processor which isolates the ambient noise from the surrounding and leaves you immersed in your tunes. These are dual sensor technology that catches the ambient noise. Perfect for when you are on the go, on the train or in the office.
